What types of documentation can be used to show that a J-1 scholar has adequate funding to support themselves and any accompanying family members during their stay in the U.S.?

Award letters from government or private entities documenting grants, scholarships, or other types of funding are acceptable. Document(s) should be in English or translated into English and provide currency amounts in U.S. dollars;

Official dated bank statement or bank letter on original bank letterhead, which is no older than six months and which includes account number(s), account type(s), the current balance with a clear indication of the currency, in English language or accompanied by an English translation, and which is signed and dated by an appropriate official of the bank or other financial institution.
