ISSS does not determine the most appropriate job code but can provide input from an immigration perspective for your consideration. It is up to the department to choose the correct job code based on the duties and responsibilities of the position, and that will most likely be done in consultation with Central HR and/or Faculty Affairs.
Then, based on the job code, job description, nature of the position, pay, and purpose of the scholar’s stay, ISSS can help determine the most appropriate visa category for the employee/researcher/visitor. We can also advise on the immigration requirements and limitations of that visa status.
