How do we determine which visa status is most appropriate for my international employee or POI?

Please get in touch with ISSS with the following information:

Is the scholar a student in their home country, and if so, are they currently working on finishing a degree back home?
- What degree? (e.g., M.S., Ph.D.)
What is their country of citizenship?
What exactly would they be doing here? Are they taking classes, performing research, or observing?
Will they receive payment from the University, and if not, what is their funding source?
Will they be participating in an internship, and if so, please describe.
